The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, is seeking Communications Assistants to support the ReFinD Research Initiative and the Mastercard Foundation Youth Futures Project. The ideal candidates will work closely with ISSER’s Head of Communications to develop compelling content, enhance digital engagement, and amplify the impact of research through strategic communication.
Duration of Assignment: 2 years (renewable based on satisfactory performance)

Job Summary
The Communications Assistant will drive content creation, digital media management, and public engagement to enhance ISSER’s research visibility. The role demands exceptional writing, strong digital communication expertise, and the ability to translate research into engaging content.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop timely, high-quality communication content and products: news articles, blog posts, newsletter, press releases, and reports for diverse audiences.
- Develop engaging multimedia content, including graphics and short videos, to enhance research outreach.
- Create and manage digital content for the project website and social media
- Monitor and analyze digital engagement to optimize content strategy.
- Provide support for events and relevant project team activities.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years’ experience in writing, content creation, digital media, or research communication.
- Experience in research dissemination, development communication, or policy advocacy is an advantage.
Competence and Skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills for clear, engaging, and impactful communication.
- Proven experience in digital content creation and web management.
- Graphic design and basic video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of social media trends and analytics to optimize engagement.
- Media relations expertise, including press release writing and journalist engagement.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
