ISSER Short Course 2022
The 2022 edition of the ISSER Short Courses Programme opened on May 30 with the Executive Leadership Programme in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for Public and Private Sectors, the first of four short courses being organised this year by the Institute.
The Short Courses Coordinator, Dr. Cynthia Addoquaye Tagoe was joined by Adjunct Scholar, Dr. David Sarfo Ameyaw to welcome the participants, who had joined the course from public and private sector organisations in Ghana and Sierra Leone.
Dr. Addoquaye Tagoe congratulated the participants for the positive step taken to build on their skills with an ISSER training, highlighting the success of the programme in bolstering the skills and knowledge of participants, and delivering value for time and money. She urged them to participate fully and actively in order to derive maximum benefits from the course.
“Just from the introduction, I believe that the training is going to be helpful and I expect that when I go back, I will be able to better support my division,” said Ms. Madleen Madina Frazer from the Research and Delivery Division of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Finance, one of several participants from that country participating in this year’s ISSER Short Courses Programme.
She shared that when the opportunity came to enroll in a professional short course, Ghana was her first choice, having had a very positive experience during her MPhil at the University of Ghana. And she chose ISSER because of the Institute’s strong training track record.
Dr. Ameyaw, who is a key facilitator of the course, was pleased with the opportunity to train another class of M&E Short Course participants. He highlighted his commitment to share his rich experience in M&E – spanning more than three decades and from several countries – with them.
“You cannot work without being accountable for what you do; I want to work with people like you so that we can incorporate M&E into everything we do,” he said.
Now in its fourth year, the M&E Short Course has been commended by past participants for its strong qualities – including a good balance of theoretical and practical components, and a quality hands-on approach of delivery.
The two-week M&E Short Course will end on Friday, June 10, after which the Research Methodology and Report Writing Short Course will take place, from Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 24. For information on the full set of 2022 Short Courses, please click here.
