Prof. Peter Quartey has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), for a second term. This was announced at the 34th annual general meeting (AGM) of the bank held on 14 August, 2021 in Accra.
“I am delighted about my re-election to the Board of ADB for the continued opportunity it offers me to serve. I look forward to working alongside the other board of directors and management to advance the goals of the bank and consolidate its strong performance,” he said.

The Ghana research team of the Greening the Social and Economic Recovery in Ghana and Zambia project organised a workshop on 12 August 2021 at the ISSER Conference Facility. Dubbed scenarios building, the workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to contribute to co-developing a set of practical and aspirational scenarios or pathways for Ghana towards a resilient recovery from COVID-19 and a green development.

The objective of the forum was to analyse the 2021 mid-year budget statement presented to the Parliament of Ghana by the Finance Minister on 29 July 2021.
The African Union Bureau of Assembly of Heads of State and Government (AU Bureau) announced the President of the Republic of South Africa, H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa, as the AU Champion on COVID-19 at the 34th Ordinary Session of the AU held on 06 February 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced events that would typically be held in person to move online. While this shift is positive in some regards, it is not without limitations, notably the missed opportunity for networking and the spontaneous exchanges that in-person events afford.
With almost 750,000 cases of COVID 19 and millions of people in quarantine around the world, this new pandemic has stopped the world in its tracks. People’s health is now centre stage everywhere, and it has become ever so clear that diseases do not stop at national borders. Now, more than ever, regional institutions’ effectiveness in ensuring health and safety should be considered a matter of priority. How these institutions act and react, may, in the long term, prove of significant importance on the way nations tackle future epidemics.
