Recently ISSER welcomed as visiting scholar Dr Guillaume Soullier, an Agricultural Economist of the Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), which is the French research centre for agricultural development. While here, Dr Soullier will collaborate with ISSER faculty on research projects as well as support activities that complement the research, training and advocacy mission of ISSER.

Prof. Peter Quartey re-elected to ADB Board

Prof. Peter Quartey has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), for a second term. This was announced at the 34th annual general meeting (AGM) of the bank held on 14 August, 2021 in Accra.

“I am delighted about my re-election to the Board of ADB for the continued opportunity it offers me to serve. I look forward to working alongside the other board of directors and management to advance the goals of the bank and consolidate its strong performance,” he said.

Greening the socio-economic recovery in Ghana: researchers engage stakeholders in scenarios building workshop

The Ghana research team of the Greening the Social and Economic Recovery in Ghana and Zambia project organised a workshop on 12 August 2021 at the ISSER Conference Facility. Dubbed scenarios building, the workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to contribute to co-developing a set of practical and aspirational scenarios or pathways for Ghana towards a resilient recovery from COVID-19 and a green development.

The 2021 post budget review by the Economics Division of the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) was held on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 at the ISSER conference centre. The objective of the forum was to analyse the 2021 mid-year budget statement presented to the Parliament of Ghana by the Finance Minister on 29 July 2021.
