On 10th June, 2019 a three-member team of evaluators from the German Academic Exchange (DAAD), Centre of African Excellence University of Bonn, visited the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, ISSER, University of Ghana, to evaluate the ten year PhD Programme by ISSER. DAAD is a major sponsor of the PhD Programme.
The team interacted with the ISSER management team led by the Director, Prof Felix Asante and they were quizzed from the processes and criteria of selection of students for the PhD programme to the current location of candidates. The evaluation assessed the project sustainability and the developmental challenges of the programme.
The team also paid a courtesy call on the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana Prof Kwame Offei, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Students Affairs) for further discussion on the ISSER-DAAD collaborative PhD Programme and where alumni are working in the area of teaching, private and public sectors.
The DAAD team met with the students and alumni of the centre for brief discussions.
