AfESC Managing Director Dr. Abena Asomaning and ISSER Director Prof. Peter Quartey shake hands, marking the beginning of collaborations between their two institutions.
The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) has entered into a strategic partnership with Africa Environmental Sanitation Consult (AfESC), a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies, to advance research and education initiatives. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a framework for collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing research capacity, training, and institutional development.
AfESC is a research and consulting service provider focused on delivering innovative solutions to its clients. Their services encompass industrial research, project design, planning and management, training and capacity building, and advocacy. These offerings align seamlessly with ISSER’s emphasis on research, training, and policy advocacy, creating valuable synergies that will empower both institutions to address critical socio-economic and environmental challenges.
The partnership formalises a collaborative framework that includes joint activities such as collaborative research and teaching, exchange of staff and students, joint research grant applications, seminars, and support for industrial placements and assessments for students, among other initiatives.
The agreement was co-signed by Dr Abena Asomaning, Managing Director of AfESC, and Prof Peter Quartey, Director of ISSER. Dr Asomaning expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “This is an exciting day for the Jospong Group of Companies. Today, we have signed an MoU that will pave the way for new research opportunities. We are thrilled because ISSER is a strong and credible brand that we admire greatly.”
Prof Peter Quartey added, “This is an exciting moment for me, my colleagues, and ISSER. This agreement will enable us to build on our individual strengths for the benefit of our institutions and their stakeholders.”
The MoU, signed on 22 October at ISSER, formalises the partnership between ISSER, AfESC, and the Jospong Group of Companies. It paves the way for long-term cooperation, offering significant benefits to both institutions and their stakeholders.
