The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana and the West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) Project on Monday, 17th June, 2019 opened a two-week capacity building workshop at the Kankam Twum Barimah Seminar Room, ISSER. Dr. Simon Bawakyillenuo acting Director of ISSER, welcomed participants during the opening ceremony and briefed them on ISSER and its core mandate; research, training, teaching and advocacy. In his address, he also indicated we all must be exposed to capacity building workshops as researchers to enlighten us. It was also explained that ISSER is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and will, therefore, celebrate the golden jubilee in style. He entreated them to be part of the celebration. The workshop is co-organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Centre of African Excellence University of Bonn to equip participants in the areas of Academic Writing and Poverty Analysis and Assessment. The workshop facilitator for Academic Writing is Professor Gordon S. K. Adika, Director of the University of Ghana Language Centre.
