ISSER participated in the exhibition organized by the College of Humanities (COH) as part of activities celebrating the 2024 Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA) celebrations. This event provided ISSER with an excellent opportunity to showcase its significant contributions to development through research, training, and policy engagement. Visitors to the ISSER stand explored the Institute’s extensive publications, groundbreaking research projects, training programs, and policy outreach and engagement activities, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how ISSER is advancing knowledge and fostering development.

Prof. Peter Quartey, the Director of ISSER, emphasized the importance of this annual event: "ISSER is a keen participant in this annual exhibition because it allows stakeholders to gain deeper insights into all facets of our work. From our cutting-edge research to our impactful policy engagements, we are proud to showcase and remind stakeholders of how ISSER contributes to the advancement of knowledge and development in Ghana and across Africa."

The celebration honors a day established by the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), now the African Union (AU), which in 1987 designated June 30 as the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA). The core objective of this celebration is to remind African governments and people about the critical roles played by science and technology in national development while commemorating the continent’s substantial contributions to the rise and advancement of modern science and technology.

Discovering connections and fostering friendships, visitors at the ISSER stand celebrate the spirit of collaboration and community.

In addition to raising awareness about their activities among the broader University community, the exhibition also provided a fantastic platform for the COH's constituent units to connect with each other and learn about the innovative ways other units are making their mark. The exhibition was held on 20 June at foyer of the University of Ghana Business School.
