The Institute of Statistical, Economic and Social Research (ISSER) in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies, University of Ghana, and the universities of Lund, Gothenburg, and Uppsala is organizing a Methodology and Field Studies in Development Research School for doctoral researchers in Ghana. The research school deals with sustainable development and poverty reduction in low-income countries, with a particular focus on aspects of governance, power, and inequality. The research methodological school aims at contributing to high-quality and boundary-crossing doctoral research in the focus area with students adequately prepared with cutting-edge methodological grounding to inform their research. The programme aims at enhancing doctoral researchers’ knowledge in research methodology, particularly in the study of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related topics.
The four-day programme to be held at the University of Ghana Campus from September 12th -15th, 2023 will expose graduate students to research methodologies to enhance scientific inquiry. It will also foster participants’ understanding of the importance of research methodological choices in development research.
Doctoral students are invited from social science-related disciplines across universities in Ghana to apply.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be at the early stage of doctoral research
- Must be in social sciences-related field
- Must be enrolled in doctoral programmes in a Ghanaian University.
- Female doctoral researchers are encouraged to apply
