Dr Aba
Senior Research Fellow

Dr. Aba Obrumah Crentsil is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana. Her scholarship lies at the intersection of energy transitions, climate resilience, sustainable urban development, and public health in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong emphasis on gender and social equity. Her work advances understanding of how energy poverty, environmental risks, and structural inequalities shape household welfare, health outcomes, and development trajectories.

She has led and contributed to major nationally and internationally funded research initiatives supported by the World Bank, UKAID, IDRC, and the MasterCard Foundation, and has published in high-impact journals including Energy Policy, Science of the Total Environment, and Global Food Security.

Dr. Crentsil teaches graduate courses in Development Planning and Project Monitoring and Evaluation at ISSER, and teaches Sustainable Cities and Regions (MSc) and Sustainable Cities (PhD) at the Center for Urban Management Studies, University of Ghana.

Her research contributes to global debates on just energy transitions, climate adaptation, and inclusive sustainable development.
