The Provost of the College of Humanities, Prof. Joseph Yaro, together with his entourage, visits the ISSER stand during the DSRA 2026 Exhibition of Scholarly Works.

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) joined the University of Ghana's College of Humanities (CoH) in celebrating the 2026 Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA), commemorated by the University in June under the theme "Equitable Development: Research, Collaborate, Empower." As a constituent institute of the CoH, ISSER participated in both unit-level and college-level activities marking the occasion.

ISSER Director, Prof. Robert Darko Osei (right), and Senior Research Fellow, Dr Andre Agyei Holmes, visit the ISSER stand at the Exhibition of Scholarly Works.

At the unit level, ISSER organised a research seminar on June 16, 2026, on "Climate Risk and Food Security across Agroecological Zones in Ghana," presented by Mr Abdullah Karim, PhD Candidate at the Centre for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany, with Prof Simon Bawakyillenuo, Head of ISSER's Social Division, serving as discussant.

At the college level, ISSER joined the CoH celebration held on June 19, 2026, at the Cedi Conference Centre, themed "Reimagining Equitable Development in the Humanities: Research, Innovation and Collaboration." As part of this, the Institute took part in the Exhibition of Scholarly Works, showcasing a selection of its recent publications alongside a screen display highlighting its ongoing research activities and achievements. ISSER staff also attended the High-Level Panel Discussion, engaging in dialogue on advancing equitable development through research and collaboration.

Visitors engage with exhibits at the ISSER stand, deepening stakeholder relations and awareness of the Institute's contributions to science and knowledge production in Ghana.
