The call is open to research institutions based in West or Central Africa. Resident Scholars who are based at an academic institution (i.e., a university) in the region are eligible to apply.

The hub offers grants for research to institutions and researchers working on the future of labour, skills development, social protection, and decarbonization
Through targeted engagements, the hub will collaborate actively with policymakers (including key Government agencies such as Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation, Ministry of Agriculture), and form partnerships with private sector actors (including, agribusinesses private sector industry associations), civil society organizations, and labour unions. Through partnerships with key regional and global bodies involved in the shaping of agendas on the future of work challenges, specifically climate change and the digital future, the hub will forge a spectrum of pathways through which its findings may be applied in concrete policy and practice in West and Central Africa and beyond.
The hub provides grant recipients with technical assistance, capacity-building programs, and mentoring.
The hub will engage with key policy and industry gatekeepers and associations across the two sub regions- west and central Africa. This will include but not limited to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), the African Union Commission Department of Social Affairs and Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Gender, Poverty and Social Policy Division, and at the global level, UNPFA, IFAD, AGRA, FAO, UNCDF and ILO, Oxford Internet Institute, DigiMetis, etc
