The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, will host of the 8th edition of the Evidence to Action (E2A) Conference and Exhibition, taking place from 14–18 July 2025. The conference is led by the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), in partnership with ISSER, the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), the Committee on Sustainability Assessment (COSA), and other collaborators, on the theme: “Advancing Participatory Governance for Sustainable Development in Africa.”

“As host institution, ISSER is proud to provide a platform for these important conversations,” said Prof. Peter Quartey, Director of ISSER. “Sustainable development is only possible when governance structures are inclusive, citizen-focused, and grounded in strong evidence. E2A 2025 will offer a valuable space for meaningful engagement and action.”

The conference will feature high-level speakers including Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, Ghana’s Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, who will deliver the keynote address. Other featured guests include Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana; Prof. Michael Carter of the University of California, Davis; and Dr. Namanga Ngongi, Chair of the ICED Board and former President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa.

The five-day event begins with pre-conference activities (14–15 July), including hands-on workshops, capacity-building sessions, and an innovation challenge designed to strengthen the skills of researchers and scholars. A public exhibition will also run alongside these events, showcasing research, innovations, and creative expressions from across the continent.

The main conference (16–18 July) will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions that delve into participatory governance themes, including citizen engagement, policy accountability, and evidence-informed decision-making.
