Vice Chancellor to chair launch of Ghana Social Development Outlook 2022

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo is the chairperson for the upcoming launch of the Ghana Social Development Outlook (GDSO), a biennial report by the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER). The event will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm GMT at the ISSER Conference Facility, University of Ghana.

The GSDO is one of the flagship publications of ISSER, and comprehensively documents, with evidence, issues related to social development in Ghana. It has ten chapters, with different but interrelated topics on social development in Ghana. It starts with an Overview chapter followed by the other key topics, namely, Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Housing, Employment, Energy, Gender Equity, Social Relations, and Population. GDSO 2022 is the sixth edition of the report, which was first GDSO was issued in 2012.

The launch will gather respected academics, policymakers and practitioners, and the media to discuss the rich evidence presented in the book, alongside pressing social issues in Ghana today.
