Gender and Human Development (GHD) Cluster

This cluster examines how policies, institutions, and gendered power relations shape people’s wellbeing and life opportunities. Drawing on expertise from gender studies, social policy, sociology, health studies, human development, among others, the cluster examines how families, communities, governments, and markets influence people’s access to resources, services, and opportunities, with a focus on how inequalities are produced and experienced in these areas. The cluster produces evidence to inform better policies and programmes, contributing to stronger social policy systems and improved development outcomes, especially for women, young people, and other disadvantaged groups.
