PhD Student

Prossy Nassuna is an educationist and a researcher from Wakiso District in Central Uganda with a strong commitment to advancing inclusive and transformative education. Currently, she is pursing PhD in Development Studies. She holds a Master of Education in Research from Moi University in Eldoret, Kenya. She also earned a Bachelor of Education (Business Studies) and a Diploma in Secondary Education (Business Studies – Double Main) from Kyambogo University in Kampala, Uganda. Her academic training has provided her with a solid foundation in educational research, curriculum development, and teaching practice.

Prossy has accumulated over ten years of professional experience in secondary education teaching and instruction. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated dedication, professionalism, and a strong work ethic as a dependable and hardworking team player. Her experience in the education sector has enabled her to support learners through effective instruction, mentorship, and career guidance, helping students develop both academically and personally.

Beyond classroom teaching, Prossy has developed expertise in areas such as career development, research, and project monitoring. She has also engaged in community-oriented initiatives focusing on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention, child protection, livelihoods, and community empowerment. Through these engagements, she has contributed to programs that promote financial literacy, re-entry of girls into mainstream schools, and support community participation in income-generating activities. These initiatives play an important role in improving household livelihoods and fostering sustainable community development.

Her research interests center on education, gender, and curriculum implementation, particularly in relation to inclusive education and equitable learning opportunities. She is passionate about using education and research as tools for social transformation, with a focus on improving the lives of young people and marginalized populations. Prossy’s work reflects her commitment to advancing policies and practices that support inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.
