Kwasi Odame is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (FCA), and an accomplished finance professional with over 25 years of experience in financial management, public sector accounting, budgeting, enterprise systems implementation, audit coordination and institutional leadership.
As Principal Accountant at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), he leads the Institute's financial management function, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, donor-funded projects, compliance, internal controls and finance administration.
Before joining ISSER, Mr Odame held several senior finance leadership positions at the University of Ghana, including Deputy Director of Finance, Head of the Interim Finance Management Team and Acting Director of Finance, and Head of the ITS User Coordination Office (Finance Module). He played a key role in strengthening financial management systems, leading budgeting and treasury functions, and implementing the University's Integrated Tertiary Software (ITS) Finance Module.
Mr Odame holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Ghana and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. His expertise spans strategic financial management, ERP systems implementation, governance, compliance and business process improvement.
Over the course of his career, he has also worked with Valley View University, VisionFund Ghana, the Volta River Authority, SOFT Company Limited and the Controller and Accountant General's Department. He currently serves on the boards of Desire of Ages Cooperative Credit Union Limited and Universal Microfinance Company Limited and supports the professional development of accountants in higher education as an external assessor.
His contributions to financial systems transformation have earned him several recognitions, including the Anim Addo Prize as the best graduating student in Computer Science at the University of Ghana.
