Dr. Miriam Afi Kosi is a sociologist and development researcher with strong academic training from the University of Ghana, where she obtained her B.A. and M.Phil. in Sociology, as well as her PhD in Development Studies at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research. She currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ISSER.
She is a recipient of the prestigious DAAD In-Country/In-Region Scholarship, which supported her doctoral research in environmental change risk reduction and adaptation.
Dr. Kosi’s research sits at the intersection of development and social transformation, with a particular focus on environmental change risk reduction and adaptation, digital technologies and the future of work, youth employment, gender, and maternal and child health. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to generating policy-relevant evidence that advances inclusive and sustainable development, particularly within Ghana and the broader African context.
