The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, has launched the State of the Ghanaian Economy Report (SGER) 2025, marking the 35th edition of its flagship annual publication.

Held on 20 October 2026, at the ISSER Conference Facility, the launch was chaired by Madam Belinda Boamah, Deputy Managing Director (Business and Operations) of the National Investment Bank (NIB). It brought together stakeholders from government, academia, industry and the financial sector to discuss the report’s findings and their implications for Ghana’s economic outlook.

The SGER provides independent and comprehensive analysis of Ghana’s economic performance across key sectors. It serves as an important resource for policymakers, researchers, development partners and other stakeholders seeking evidence to inform economic policy and development.

The 2025 edition features a special chapter on minerals, examining developments and emerging issues in the sector and their implications for Ghana’s economy.

For the first time, ISSER has also introduced a highlights edition, presenting a chapter-by-chapter snapshot of the report to make its key findings more accessible to readers.

The launch provided an opportunity for participants to engage directly with the report’s authors and exchange perspectives on developments shaping Ghana’s economy.

The SGER 2025 Highlights is available here.
