The 2019 edition of the State of the Ghanaian Economy Report (SGER), the comprehensive and independent annual report on the economy of Ghana by the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) is out now.
The eight chapter report discusses performance of the various sectors of the economy, with an optional chapter focusing on a relevant sector or topic of the economy. The optional chapter of the 2019 edition is on Banking Sector Reforms and Economic Performance in Ghana.
ISSER Director Prof Peter Quartey said: “We are pleased to announce the release of yet another thorough and substantive report, which policymakers, businesses, academia, and indeed all stakeholders, will no doubt find useful.”
“I thank the team of authors for their commitment and persistence in seeing through the 30th edition of the SGER, in spite of unexpected delays and challenges in data collection caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. I encourage all patrons to get a copy and get informed, as they stay safe.”
The stakeholder engagement events normally organized to launch the SGER and discuss pressing economic issues have been deferred due to Covid-19 restrictions.
SGER 2019 is available at ISSER and the University of Ghana bookshop.
