The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) is recruiting research assistants to join a team of researchers for the 4th wave of the Ghana Socio-Economic Panel Survey. The Ghana Socio-Economic Panel Survey is a nationally and regionally representative household survey that covers a wide range of topics, including education, health, employment, migration, financial assets, land use and agriculture, non-farm enterprises, housing, psychological measures and more.
The successful candidate should be able to:
- Handle a full range of project tasks under the direction of the project coordinator and principal investigators both at ISSER and Northwestern University
- Have good grounding in quantitative research techniques and processes
- Assist in the gathering and monitoring of the Ghana Socio-Economic Panel Survey
- Participate in the training of enumerators
- Participate in the review of primary data
- Supervise fieldwork
- Prepare research reports
Desired Skills and Experience
- Excellent knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures
- Experience in quantitative data analysis
- Excellent knowledge of the Stata statistical software package
- General knowledge of databases
- Knowledge of digital data collection tools, particularly Survey CTO
- Able to work effectively in a team environment
Education
Minimum of a master’s degree in economics, agricultural economics or related disciplines
Starting Salary: Competitive
