A brief event was held on Monday 31st May, 2021 to welcome participants of the Executive Leadership Programme in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for Public and Private Sectors, the first of five short courses for the year 2021.
The Short Courses Coordinator, Dr. Cynthia Addoquaye Tagoe was joined by Dr. Simon Bawakyillenuo, Head of the Statistics and Survey Division and Dr. David Ameyaw, Adjunct Scholar for the welcome event, which also marks the formal opening of the 2021 round of short courses by the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER).

Dr. Addoquaye Tagoe, after welcoming participants, assured them of ISSER’s offer of value for money and encouraged them to be punctual at all times and to apply themselves to what they would learn during the course, while observing COVID-19 protocols put in place by the Institute. On his part, Dr Bawakyillenuo informed participants of the world-class training ISSER offers and the benefits to participants, particularly because of the transdisciplinary nature of researchers with a wide range of global experiences found in the Institute.
“You are going to get everything you need for effective M&E”, Dr Ameyaw, an experienced M&E professional and one of the main facilitators of the course, assured participants.
Once again, the course attracted a rich diversity of participants from public and private sector organisations in education, energy, health, research and governance. These included Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Volta River Authority (VRA), University of Ghana Medical Centre as well as the University of Ghana Hospital, Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana Standards Authority and other research institutions.
