On 6 August 2020 ISSER hosted representatives from local media, along with other key publics, to discuss the 2020 Mid-Year Review and share expert perspectives on measures to mitigate the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, sustain the economy and keep fiscal targets on track.
he session featured a presentation by Prof Peter Quartey, Director of ISSER, highlighting key areas of the budget review, including the impact of COVID-19 on key economic sectors and government recovery interventions designed to ease the socioeconomic burden of the pandemic on businesses and lives.

He concluded with some recommendations, and stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in budget expenditures as well as the need to make sure allocation of COVID-19 recovery funds and interventions is guided by data on where the greatest needs are.
The presentation was followed by interactions and interviews involving Prof Quartey and other economists of ISSER.
