ISSER congratulates Professor Felix Ankomah Asante on his appointment as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development at the University of Ghana. Professor Asante has played a very significant role in ISSER’s history. Joining ISSER in 1996 as a research fellow, he rose through the ranks and became the Director from 2013 to 2019. He has led several research projects, training programs and fundraising efforts, contributing in no mean ways to the continued growth of ISSER. Professor George Owusu has been appointed as the Dean of the School of Social Sciences at the University of Ghana. Previous to this appointment, Professor Owusu served both at ISSER and other units within the University of Ghana in a number of administrative capacities, including as the Coordinator of Graduate Programmes (MA, MPhil., PhD) at ISSER, the Director of the Centre for Urban Management Studies and the Head of the Geography Department at the University of Ghana. ISSER congratulates Professor Owusu and wishes him success in his new office. We are truly proud of our distinguished senior members and celebrate their leadership and continued service to ISSER, and the University of Ghana.
