The Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) on 9th November opened the 2020 edition of the Executive Leadership Programme in Monitoring and Evaluation for Public and Private Sectors, the first of two short courses being rolled out this year. As was the case last year when the maiden edition was organised, the course attracted over 30 professionals from key public and private sector organisations, providing an ideal setting not only for learning and exchanging ideas, but also for building career-enhancing networks.
The Director of ISSER, Prof Peter Quartey was present to welcome participants, along with the Short Courses Coordinator, Dr Cynthia Addoquaye Tagoe and Dr David Sarfo Ameyaw, one of the main facilitators for the course. Prof Quartey spoke briefly about ISSER, highlighting the unmatched quality of its research and training programmes, and the diversity of its 22 highly qualified researchers. He congratulated participants on their decision to enroll for a training programme at ISSER which he applauded as a wise decision. He finally urged them to comply with the COVID-19 safety protocols put in place by the Institute.
On her part, Dr. Addoquaye Tagoe applauded participants for not putting their lives on hold because of COVID-19 pandemic and building their capacity for post-COVID times. She assured participants of value-for-money training that would pay off very well. The two-week course in Executive Leadership Programme in Monitoring and Evaluation for Public and Private Sectors will run till 20th November, 2020 after which the next course on Data Management and Analysis will take place from 23rd November – 4th December, 2020.
